What's New?

Here's the newest public build of Make Your Parents Proud! This includes the episode titled, Undercover At A Nudist Camp.

This episode was the biggest one yet at roughly 7500 words. In it, you are hired by a detective to...you guessed it; go undercover at a nudist camp.

Heads up: there's only one ending so don't go thinking you missed something. This is part of an ongoing story, so it's not all wrapped up nice and neat just yet. Oh but it will be!

To play the episode, you have to click the job on the job board. But first you'll need some logic points to meet the job requirements, so make sure you play another episode with logic chosen as your focus. I'm working on a cheat code so those who don't care about game mechanics can just go where they want.

What Else?

• Episodes and locations are in separate scenes within Unity. This should be mostly unnoticeable to the player, but it makes the game a lot easier to manage under the hood, especially as it gets bigger. (This took me a long time so I wanted to mention it even though it's invisible *sigh*)

Known issues:

• Loading between scenes could look nicer.
• If you button mash it'll probably break and end up with multiple overlapping characters on screen at once. I think I know what's causing it. Hopefully it'll be fixed before the next build.
• Still a bunch of images I'd like to redraw, including a few backgrounds.
• Sound design needs work too. Lots of times when it's just silent:(

Oh yeah, and I Finally used Butler

This is the first time I used butler to upload the game, which means if you're using the Itch App, it should be super quick and easy to download future builds as the game progresses! Yay! (I hope I did it right...)

The 32 bit version was not uploaded with Butler because I guess Butler doesn't distinguish 64 and 32 bit channels and so I'll be putting the 32 bit version up the old fashioned way.

The game has grown a lot since I started it last Fall. It went from a single short story simple web game, to an interconnected downloadable anthology with over 17,000 words. You may have noticed the quality of my art and animations have improved and I'm working hard to make them even better.

I've got big plans for the future, including multiple follow-up episodes for each of the characters, an interactable overworld, and the ability to take characters on dates and compete for their affection.
